William Kurtz Wimsatt, Jr. - William Kurtz Wimsatt, Jr., was born in 1907 in Washington D.C. He attended Georgetown University and, later, Yale University, where he received his Ph.D. In 1939, Wimsatt joined the English Department at Yale, where he taught until he died in 1975.
